George Sand was already a wife and a mother, when Chopin met her. One would have said there could be no attraction between these two, their tastes and temperaments being so different.Yet this was the woman who, according to most of the biographers, broke Chopin's heart. She inspired the frail and delicate Chopin with an intensity of admiration which consumed him. This is their story.
